HEART RATE SENSOR *

The Heart-rate sensor 027i provides a simple
way to study the heart?s function. The sensor
clip consists of a small infrared LED and an
infrared light sensor. The sensor measures
the light level transmitted through a tissue
of the ear lobe that occur as the blood
volume changes in the tissue.
Range: 0 .. 5 V, each heartbeat gives a peak.
Can be used to:
? investigate the heart rate of different
individuals.
? measure of the heart rate before and after
a vigorous activity.
? determine the recovery rate of the heart
after physical exercise.
? measure the heart rate before and after
drinking coffee or Coca-Cola.
